A LIFE WITH YO-YO
Terrance had been yo-yoing since he was 7 years old. He watched a friend played with a yo-yo in school and he was fascinated by it. He was then given a yoyo as a gift and he started learning some tricks. He soon was able to do some basic tricks and progressed by learning more advanced tricks over the internet. Terrance now does two different types of yo-yo play style, 1A and 4A. 1A being the yo-yo that is attached to a string while 4A being the yo-yo that is off-string (unattached to the string). Terrance is also one of the very few Soloham player in North America. Soloham is more intricate yo-yo tricks and is inspired by juggling, in that he uses more than one off-string yo-yo.
Terrance soon discovers his talent and competitive nature when he joined his first yo-yo competition, earning his first medal when he was 9 years old. Despite of his young age, he has bagged many medals from various yo-yo contests across Canada and United States as well as Talent Shows. Terrance is two time Canadian National Yo-yo Champion and world yo-yo contest semi-finalist in Iceland and China. He is going to represent Canada again in 2019 World Yo-yo Contest in Cleveland. In Terrance’s words, “I feel relaxed when I yo-yo”. Check out some of Terrance’s yo-yo performances here.
